Readings/Viewings: This schedule alerts you to when we will be discussing each reading. As you work through the term, you might want to get readings out of the way in advance, especially if you know you have a big project or assignment due in another class. At the beginning of the week, make sure that you can access your readings. If there is a problem, let me know in a timely manner. (For instance, I can’t help you if you are alerting me thirty minutes before class…)

You will be doing regular readings from “They Say, I Say: The Moves that Matter in Academic Writing” by Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein. Keep up with these readings. I expect to see the topics reflected in your writing assignments and discussions of “academic moves” in our readings; even if we don’t specifically discuss each topic in class.

How/Where to post Assignments: Go to the Blackboard site for this course, go to Discussion Board. In Discussion Board you will find a Forum for each assignment. Post your assignment as a thread in the appropriate forum. (More directions in Blackboard Discussion Board)

This calendar is subject to revision. New readings will not be added, but other adjustments may be made. New calendars will not be distributed. It is up to you to mark adjustments on your calendar. In-class assignments are in addition to this calendar.
